FOUNDATION MARES
“Kallise.” (thoroughbred)
We bought Big Kelly off the track for a hack, but she wouldn’t settle for the ring, so we decided to breed with her, and she produced two lovely mares for the stud. Unfortunately she had a colic attack when heavy in foal with “Special Edition’ and we had the hard decision to lose the foal, or rear her as an orphan as nothing could be done to save mum.
Del proudly raised this foal to be 15.1hh, and she is successfully shown by the stud today.
This mares progeny Garden Vale Classic Edition and Garden Vale Special Edition have been retained by the stud for future breeding purposes.
“Stylish Lass” (thoroughbred)
Our award winning Champion Galloway - “Stylish Lass” produced 3 lovely foals for the stud, but tragically only 2 of these are alive today after Lass and her 3rd foal were tragically killed when hit by a motor vehicle on 23 February 2005. This was a very tragic event as Lass was huge part of the family having been purchased as a in October 1994. This mare won lots of broad ribbon sashes and she produced some stunning progeny. Smithfields Stylish Memories, and Garden Vale Stylish Image (the award winning stallion owned by Greg and Mike Smith).
